Friday, May 22, 2026: Fitness, Games, and Live Music
- Get Fit May – HIIT in the Park:
Kickstart your holiday weekend by getting active with the Katy Parks and Recreation department. As part of the city’s “Get Fit May” initiative, there is a free, high-energy High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) session scheduled at Thomas Park. Instructed by the local experts at Body & Brain Katy, this community fitness program is designed for all fitness levels to help build strength, increase endurance, and sweat out the stress of the workweek. Be sure to bring plenty of water and a workout buddy! - Live Music: Tracy Perez Band at Central Green Park:
Start your Friday night right at LaCenterra’s Central Green Park (located at 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd). The Tracy Perez Band will take the stage from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM for a spectacular, free live performance. Known for their high-energy delivery and infectious rhythms, they will have you dancing on the lawn. Grab your lawn chairs, blankets, and some takeout from one of LaCenterra’s premium restaurants to enjoy a perfect evening under the stars. - School’s Out Summer Kickoff at Katy Center:
Celebrate the official end of the school year at the Katy Center (20718 Park Row Dr). Running from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, this event marks the beginning of summer with games, social play, skill-building activities, and creative crafts designed to keep the kiddos entertained and engaged. - Friday Afternoon Board Games:
If you are looking for a more relaxed, indoor environment to escape the afternoon heat, head over to the Cinco Ranch Branch Library. They are hosting their Friday afternoon board game meetup. It is an excellent opportunity to meet local neighbors, challenge your friends to classic tabletop games, and enjoy a peaceful afternoon.
Saturday, May 23, 2026: Markets and Groovy Tunes
- The Old Katy Farmers Market at The Dryer:
Start your Saturday morning by supporting local agriculturalists and artisans at the historic Dryer site (5339 E 3rd St). Operating from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, this state-certified farmers’ market features a wide variety of fresh, locally grown produce, handmade crafts, delicious baked goods, and unique vendors. Keep an eye out for special guest appearances and samples as you stroll through one of Katy’s favorite weekly traditions. - Live Music: Dave’s Local Collab at Central Green Park:
The live music continues at Central Green Park on Saturday night. From 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM, Dave’s Local Collab will perform live on the green. This group consists of Dave and his talented circle of top-tier local musicians. They are highly regarded for putting fresh, fun, and creative spins on your favorite classic hits and modern popular tunes. It is a completely free, family-friendly event. - Continued Summer Kickoff at Katy Center:
If you missed Friday’s kickoff, the Katy Center continues its summer-focused celebration on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with more interactive games, crafts, and social events for families.
Sunday, May 24, 2026: Relaxing and Exploring Katy
- Afternoon at No Label Brewing Co. or Mary Jo Peckham Park:
While there are no major organized city festivals scheduled for Sunday, it is the perfect day to explore some of Katy’s staple attractions. Head over to No Label Brewing Co. to enjoy locally brewed craft beer in their family-and-dog-friendly outdoor yard. Alternatively, you can pack a picnic and spend a quiet Sunday afternoon fishing, walking, or feeding the ducks at Mary Jo Peckham Park.
Monday, May 25, 2026: Memorial Day Remembrance
- Memorial Day Closures and Reflection:
Please note that in honor of Memorial Day, all City of Katy administrative offices will be closed. It is a day dedicated to honoring and remembering the brave military personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. - Supa Soca – Memorial Day Wet Fete Day Party:
For those looking to celebrate the holiday with high-energy music and outdoor festivities, the “Supa Soca” wet fete day party is taking place nearby at Kamp Houston/Katy area. It is a vibrant, music-filled social gathering to wrap up your long holiday weekend.
